Laminated red oak, steel, stainless steel, boat display, 2006

The curved oak beams under the boat are laminated with epoxy in seven layers then hand chamfered and finished with linseed oil and and custom footing cushions.

The 70-piece stainless steel hardware for the signs, boat, and other ship parts is custom; The welds are ground and sanded, and all is powder coated.

Sultana Projects inc. created this four thousand pound replica of explorer John Smith's vessel for educational, historical, and waterway promotional exhibition, and will sail it after the tour.
